Wraping 3D scan

Dear Users,
I’m trying to wrap 3D scan on 3D base mesh. I need to take hands and feet from the base mesh as can be done with the base mesh from the gallery. Is there a possibility to do it?

As shown in the picture

Hello Anna,

Yes, it is possible. Please take a look at this video:
https://vimeo.com/180855812#t=6m7s

In this link playback starts from 6m 7s, where you can see the demonstration of so-called “free polygons”. I believe, that this is what you need to achieve the desired result.

Ivan

Dear Ivan,

Thank you for your fast replay! Now it’s still in process, (wrapping process) it takes a lot of time. I will try and let you now.

Hello Anna,

Your mesh seems quite dense. You can increase Sampling Final parameter of the Wrapping node to something like 1 or 2 to make this process faster.

Dear Ivan,
I tried to select according to the video, but since the base mesh is not part of the gallery, I can not select. I’m not sure what to do. However I have still another problem with the 3D model even is not full with the hands and the feet, I want to use it as avatar on Marvelous. This means to import again on Warpx to do again the wrapping process over 3D avatar and to extract as .avt format.

I like to find out.
