Trouble or Bug with saved points not matching at same mesh (select points node)

Hello,

my selection points do not match anymore, even when I load exact the same Mesh which only became an additional extended neck in the lower part,
but all the areas where the points sit, haven’t been changed at all.

Also when I save and reload the points, to make sure that those really are the exact same positions, they do not appear at the same positions. (they completely mess up, it has nothing to do with the original positions).

When I load the original mesh, where the points have been created, everything works as it should. It means the points were right.

I have a lot detail points for “rigid alignment” and wrapping node, this makes it important to use the same setting again.

I am working with wrap 3.3.12
(by the way: should I install a newer version?)

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

That is an expected behavior. Points stores their positions inside triangles on a mesh. If triangle numeration changes (which most likely happened when you added the neck part), points are messed up.

We are going to make a functionality to export and import control points as simple 3D-points which will solve your problem.

As a temporary workaround you can continue working with the previous version of your mesh and after wrapping use Lattice node to deform our new mesh the same way the older mesh was deformed. You can also use Replace node for the neck area to make those polygons follow the rest of the geometry.
