Dear supporters of R3DS,
I noticed the replace node doesn’t seem to always work as you want it to work. Before I dive into my request I will first explain you my problem.
So while following along and referencing the image below you can see at (A) there is a broken flow and I want to replace it with the template by using the replace node.
For that we first need to create a selection (B) and plug it into the replace node. The result (C) is smooth but it created a little hill on the body and that’s not what I want.
We could disable seamless fitting from the replace node and it will exactly replace it with the vertices I want them to be replaced with but the neighbor faces from the island selection are not being influenced and it would be nice to also influence them with a soft selection.
To explain that what I want I’m going to give an example that works in 3DsMax.
While looking at the image below you can see between (A) and (B) exactly the same line.
By using a soft selection and morphing the influenced vertices towards the template I get a cleaner result (D)
Now I want this method to work in Wrap3 so that I don’t have to switch program every time.
Kind regards,
Tristan
