Doing a trial run currently with wrap3 definitely considering making it part of our pipeline at the studio. It seems to fill a really nice gap that will continue growing as we start doing more scan based work.
Most of the things i’ve thought about have been requested, however.
-
Merge points ( ability to create multiple select point nodes and merge the results )
-
Merge polygons ( ability to create multiple select polygon nodes and merge the results ) this is more useful than merge points since id prefer doing a select polygon node for each major selection and merging them than to risk adding or removing the wrong polygons. Sure i could hide unhide but its less organized for me than to truely isolate each selection.
Useful features not sure if viable.

Baking. Creation of displacement maps based on result of wrapping node to imported scan. Sure u can project in zbrush but that has its own issues.
-
Creation of a mask texture (black white) based on select poly output ( could be really useful because generally ive been using select poly to tell wrapping what not to influence so this mask could be used later in the pipe for what not to transfer for textures, displacement ect. ) essentially creating a map defining consistently problematic areas to avoid. Or areas u want to leave untouched in the base mesh.
Low priority:
- Conversion node (points to polys, polys to points)
Ill update this post as we evaluate farther.
Really useful software this far, amazing results.
