Will there be a Mac OS Version of WrapX?
Hey, sorry we are not planning to make one at least in nearest future :-\
No big deal. Linux-version is well enough. Thanks!
Very sad… ![]()
Hello Njordy,
Sorry for late answer. Is the lack of Mac version prohibitive for you to use Wrap or only an inconvenience? I mean when it comes to vfx companies, they usually have no trouble to install Windows/Linux Wrap3 on another machine. Are you someone like indie artist fully in Mac ecosystem?
Ivan
I know this is an old thread, but here is another vote for a Mac version, at least of ZWrap. I know many indie 3D artists who are Mac users, and for whom this would be hugely useful (and for whom rebooting into windows or finding a PC would effectively prevent them from using Wrap). I realize that comparatively the PC market is much larger, but there would be a market for this tool amongst many Mac users.
Totally agree… Sometimes I’m thinking how useful it could be for me to be able to use Wrap with my Mac. I think still there’s not a proper competitor for Wrap on the market and using Wrap when I work with Windows in my apartment in Portugal but here I’m using a Mac and can’t use it.
Currently, we are working on porting ZWrap for MacOS and now it’s under the early testing stage. We are planning to release it in May with updated algorithms.
Are you still planning a MacOS May release? I am very interested in purchasing a Mac version.
Yes, we are still planning to release ZWrap for MacOS this May.
Yes PLEASE. I would LOVE a Mac version.
I teach at a school where we ONLY use Macs.
I would love to be able to show/teach my students this tool.
I have around 300 students A YEAR.
That would be a lot of eyes on your software/tool/plug-in.
Thanks so much for considering us Mac folks.
ZWrap for macOS is finally released!
The new version comes with improved texture transfer and extrapolation that can handle 16- and 32-bit per channel images and with the accelerated wrapping process. (As well as Windows version)
