Linux ETA and Python API

Hi Guys

Kick as son this release !
Do you have a ETA on the Linux Release ?
Also would this version allow Python API access from other applications like WrapX ?

Thank you for your words!

We will have Linux Release by the end of this week.

Currently there are no plans to make Python API access from Wrap3. We think that it is not necessary since you can make json-based Wrap project file and run Wrap3 with its name from command line. So if you need scripting then you can do all the scripting outside of Wrap3 with any language and just run Wrap3 with customized project file.

We are planning to update WrapX with algorithms from Wrap3 for cases when you need full control over pipeline. But it will take several months because our first priority is adding some new features for Wrap3.

I assumed that the Jason file would give you this capability for integration and It is actually probably easier to integrate it this way.

Quick question.
When you say that Wrap3 can be run from command line and just passing the json file possibly created in another application
do you mean that it ia a way to open the application or the processing can happen on the shell session without opening the UI ?
I looked for info on how to run it directly on the shell but I didn’t find much help.
Looking forward testing the symmetry node !!!

Hello Maurizio!

Currently Wrap3 always opens UI even when started with project file from command line. We plan to implement silent running without any UI later in November. How urgent do you need this feature?

Not urgent at all, wrap3 rocks the way it is , but it is interesting to know of the upcoming silent feature. Don’t shuffle your priorities at all and thank you
