Hi All… I’ve been asked to move our environment from using node locked licenses to a floating license server. However, there is one user that is often shoulder tapped to urgently work on something or demonstrate something for management. Is there a way to reserve a floating license by user? I’ve done this with some other software in the past, but I have no idea if it’s possible with r3dslicserver. Worst case scenario, we might be able to keep this user’s license node locked but it would be preferable, if possible, to allow this user to have a reserved license regardless of which workstation they are using.

You are right, there is no possibility yet in r3dslicserver to reserve floating license by user. But you can make a workaround. You can setup two instanses of r3dslicserver on different computers (or on different vms) and one of them will handle single instance floating license for this particular user.
