I can't seem to figure out TexturingXYZ's 'Killer Workflow'

I was fascinated by TexturingXYZ’s ‘Killer Workflow’, but I’m having problems. As you can see in the pictures, I have the texture and model… until I open Zwrap. Any ideas on why I’m getting just the blue surface? (And no, it’s not on the other side).
Thanks for any help

I am also not seeing the texture, I Get a message that the texture was not loaded. It is very strange because in the tutorial the texture appears.

Glad I’m not the only one. I’m beginning to suspect it’s the plane…

I’m experience the same thing. The error: “Can’t open texture file for the basemesh model!”. Just in case I reduced the size of the image but the result is the same. I appreciate any suggestion.

That Tutorial will only be useful if we can see the texture image. Even if other formats, like PSD, jpg, the problem persist

Hello! Thank you for the feedback!

If you’re getting an error, this issue is related mostly to missing libraries and it has been fixed in version 1.0.4.
You can download the latest version here: https://www.russian3dscanner.com/download-start-zwrap-win64/

rspearse,

If the plane has texture coordinates in OBJ-file and it’s visible in ZBrush viewport with texture, then an issue is underlying somewhere else. Could you provide data about your graphics card and video driver version?

with this versio 1.0.4, everything is fine

Thank you for taking the time to help me with this.

Unfortunately, the update didn’t help me.

Could you provide data about your graphics card and video driver version?
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780
Version 24.21.13.9836

Does the image showing up on the plane mean that the plane is not part of the problem?

for me, now is working. The texture is appearing.
I am not using a plane, but a very low head, with uvs to fit in the image.

rspearse,

Yes, the plane is ok.

Please could you also check files in the following directory: C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\ZWrap ?
There’s should be two *.GoZ mesh files and *.tif texture file that has been applied to the plane.

rspearse,

Also, you can try to run 2 versions of our test application to check that issue with missing texture is not related to OpenGL. That information will help a lot!

Admittedly, since I already have Wrap3, I’m starting to lose interest in this.

I appreciate your help and will give it a try.

Hey would this method be able to be used in Wrap3?

I want to project just the skin from texture.xyz on a random obj face to get the same effect as the tutorial of zwrap.

Sure, it would since all ZWrap features are based on Wrap3 algorithms.

I have tried doing the same set up and have had alot of trouble trying to get the texture plane to completely wrap the base face. Any tips on how to do it in wrap3?

For example, My wrap doesn’t come out smooth like it does in the zwrap example. I’m trying to have that type of smoothness in wrap3.

Is the plane model vertex density is high enough?
Have you tried to customize wrapping settings?

I can try playing with the settings again. I tried a few with no luck. I will keep trying.

I also don’t know the plane’s density. I made the plane in maya. I can see if it needs to be higher.
