Wrap3 is looking amazing, is easy to use and has loads of potential! Well worth the wait and well done to all involved.
I have to admit we are struggling to get the example base topology to follow the anatomical forms on Alex’s head. For example, we would like to control the wrap in a way that places an edge loop in the furrow of the nasal Labial Fold from the nose to the mouth corner. We are adding a lot of control points to get a general flow, but between these points the mesh bows and ripples.
At this point I am assuming this could be helped with adjusting the wrapping parameters.
Can you add some help documentation to explain what the parameters do, so we can have an educated guess and which to adjust.
In fact, general help documentation would be really useful at this point.
Smoothness final: 0.05| 0.00001-1000
guess- amount the re projection ignores irregularities of the mesh (spikes) Control points weight: 10| 0.00001-1000
guess- higher numbers mean point position takes more into account (can be used for aligning lines to specific areas) Max optimization iterations: 100| 1-1000
I would like to have more control over the effect of constrained polygon groups, or pinning/ masking areas based on texture. I believe part of the wrapping process uses ICP. It would be magical to add Optical Flow as an additional process. I find for rigid registration the results are good, but need a lot of fine tuning.
How would I return the transformation of the rigidly aligned scan done in Wrap3 from WrapX? I need translation and rotation to pass later for baking the scans.
Please pay attention at sampling final and smoothness final parameters. Increasing these parameters you will have wrapping result more smooth and rigid.

For Optical Flow we need two textures. Do you mean the process where you first wrap a neutral scan and project a texture to it and the wrap this scan around different facial expressions?

For now it is only possible for in WrapX. We will add this functionality to Wrap3.
