We have a floating license server setup at our studio. We have noticed that when a client workstation checks out a license, it never gets returned back to the floating pool. Not even shutting down the client machine checks the license back in. The workaround at the moment is to restart the floating license service on the server, however this releases all licenses at once, and is a manual intervention, and is therefore not ideal.
Could you please help us set up a license check-in procedure, ideally automated?

It looks very strange for me that releasing license doesn’t work when client machine is shutting down, because floating server releases the license if there is no “heartbeat” messages from the client. Can you provide me some information regarding your setup so I will try to replicate it in our office? Which operating system are you using for license server, which client versions you are using and is there any firewalls in between? I think that this information should no be public so please reply me to ivan@russian3dscanner.com
By the way I’m going to add button in the license server web interface so verbose logging will be available for you to see what’s happening in the case of trouble and send me the logs to investigate. I’m planning to release it in Monday.
