16 bit texture map projection

Hello,

I’m a new user to wrap3 and I’ve using the projection function to project high resolution texture maps on the face of my character. This has been working great but a problem I run into is that wrap3 saves the maps as 8 bit files. Is it possiblet to export 16 or 32 bit images? If this is not possible, is this a feature that is in the pipeline?

Thanks

Hello,

You are right, current Wrap can export only 8-bit files. To add support of 16 and 32bit images is already on our roadmap for the upcoming release. For now the best tool I can recommend you for this task is xNormal.

That’s good to hear, looking forward to that! It would be very useful because xNormal is slow and it’s another program that I have to use. Doing it all in Wrap3 is a much more visuals way of working plus it’s less destructive because you can save the scene files.

Do you have any idea when the next release will be?

Hi,

I cannot say you anything exact about the date of the upcoming release, because we are in the middle of the development now. But I hope that we will publish it not later than in January.

Ivan

Great, thank you for your reply.
